Bridges beyond the walls
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Berlin wall fall, the BridgEU project develops to establish multiple town twinnings through which to think about the role of walls in the European recent past and present.
The project takes place over a 12 months period and through the cooperation of five partners from different EU countries. The Consortium organises five Citizens' Assemblies across European cities to foster cross-country exchanges, raises awareness of a shared European identity, promotes peaceful relations by focusing on "bridges" over "walls," and established new forms of cooperation among these cities.
Our partners for this project are four civil society organisations based in different EU Member States:
On 24 January 2025, the Citizens’ Assembly in Berlin took place. It focused on the physical and symbolic walls of past and present Europe.
